Women Empowerment
Illegal Mining and Livelihoods in the Talensi Nabdam District in the Upper East Region of Ghana .These women are sieve grinded gold dust with without protection every day for their livelihoods. The toxics in chemicals in dug out and grinded gold dust are inhaled by the women and Mapoka, one of the women told us she coughs and sneezes blood, which she knows is as a result of the gold dust she sieves but she added “ What can I do?

Research
A survey has been done in child labour and its implications on rural child education. All these were done in the Manso Area in 2012.
AVENUE has also done a research in Illegal Mining and Livelihoods in the Talensi Nabdam District in the Upper East region of Ghana. The research has opened a new understanding of the importance of collaboration between illegal miners and the assembly to reduce socio-economic challenges associated with mining so as to unearth the real potentials of mining belts in the district which can reduce extreme poverty in the area.
Socio-Economic Empowerment
Traders and market women in five communities in the Atwima Kwanwoma municipality have benefited from sensitization and training programmes on socio-economic issues such as building successful small businesses and actively taking part and making constructive contribution in community social development issues.
Youth
Over 22 schools and 2600 students have been empowered through club programmes to lend more efforts to their studies, get involved in social development issues and be patriotic. The children have been enlightened on the children act.
